A 31-year-old computer game addict collapsed and died on 6 March at his screen in Chengdu in the western Chinese province of Sichuan, after playing the online game Saga for 20 hours, according to the South China Morning Post. He had Been playing the game regularly at the Internet cafe, where an employee said he would often play for more than 10 hours a day. The Press (Christchurch , NZ), 10 Mar 2004.
Sheila Creighton, 61, of Liversedge, Yorkshire , died from Tetanus after falling over in her garden and cutting her face on a bush. Doctors failed to recognise the disease because it is now so rare. Sun, 28 February 2003
Victor Leslie, 57, former European president of computer games maker Sega, cheated on his diet and paid with his life. The 18 stone (114kg) businessman died after being stung on his tongue by a wasp as he sneaked a spoonful of ice cream at a family barbecue at his home in St Lawrence, Isle of Wight , on 8 September 2002. Tran Guoc Du, 23, teacher in the southern Vietnamese province of Binh Thuan , died instantly on 1 May when his karaoke microphone short-circuited while he was singing in his home. Sydney Daily Telegraph, 02 May 2003
Joseph Stoyer, 51, bled to death after tripping and falling with a mug of coffee when he stepped out of his front door in Seaford, Long Island. The mug broke and a 4in (10cm) shard went through his carotid artery. Newsday (NY) - 22 February 2002.
A 75-year-old woman got her arm caught in a sofa bed in Cape Coral, Florida, in August 2001. Though she was just inches from a telephone and a whistle, she was stuck for at least two days and died, probably from dehydration and stress.
